Coco Plug Pellets
Coco Plugs are made from carefully treated fractions of coco that are pressed in to shape with or without a cellulosic paper wrap. Fine netting is filled with high-quality coco peat substrate and then compressed to form a handy pellet, ensuring optimum air/water exchange. Ideal for seed germinations, rooting of vegetative cuttings and growing in hydroponic systems. Different sizes of coco plugs are available to suit propagation in vegetable growing (Horticulture) and flower growing (Floriculture). Suitable for nursery propagation of vegetables, flowers, ornamentals, soft fruits and herbs.
Coco plugs are compressed coir pith made of fine coco peat (coarse particles of coir >1mm) material in a paper or non-woven cloth. Coco plugs are best suited for cuttings and seed germination. These are 100% organic and Bio degradable. Coco Plugs are available in Natural or Washed or Buffered Coir. Intelligent solution for clean and easy handling. Pour water over the pellet to moisten well and wait till it expands. The little planting wonder grows to up to seven times its size in a few moments. It is held together by fine netting, ensuring optimum air/water exchange. Sow seeds or stick cuttings and position the tray in a bright place. When the seeds are sprouting, turn the cover slightly for air circulation. When the seeds have sprouted, take the cover off. Avoid frost. Gradually expose to the sun. Never overwater or let them dry out. Water thoroughly. Refill water when required.
To protect the sensitive roots, cover the pellet completely in the flower bed or flower pot when planting, cover with soil.
Planting from plugs reduces the time a crop resides in the ground, and is functional for those with limited space. Fully covered with 100% biodegradable net and it works as a pot to the plant. And the coco substrate will be kept in shape by the thin net when it expands with water. When the roots are growing through the net, transplant the coir block into a larger container or directly in the garden or in a grow bag. It has reliable and fast germination property for healthy plants with strong root systems.
These pellets made from coconut fiber are a sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative to peat pots and pellets. Compared to other pellets coco fiber has a lower incidence of molding, faster water absorption and retention resulting in less watering. The nursery seedlings grown on this coco plugs (with non-woven cloth) can be easily uprooted and transplanted without damaging the root zone i.e. transplantation shock is minimized or avoided. Use compressed pellets instead of heavy potting soil. On watering, pellet expands to 6cms.Germinated plants can be planted directly in pots or soil with no damage to roots.
